Today, January 10th, is Houseplant Appreciation Day. This special day was created to generate awareness and appreciation for one of nature's beautiful and beneficial gifts. If you have houseplants now or are thinking of getting some, this is an opportune time to learn about how to take care of them to ensure they last for years to come. Although houseplants are generally low maintenance, there are some specific things you need to do to keep them healthy like these houseplant care tips: Since it's winter time now, it's a good idea to focus on this season's care (however, we are lucky to live in San Diego where it doesn't necessarily get that cold!). Make plenty of room in your home to give your houseplants what they deserve. This means plenty of indirect light that allows them to feed on the sunshine. You can think about putting some in hanging baskets or on shelves in front of certain windows that attract the sunlight.
