The fourth Saturday of every October is Make a Difference Day. Celebrated all over the country, this is a day dedicated to serving the local community in some way. It's a great day to get involved in a volunteer project anywhere in San Diego or create your own project that can make a difference in the lives of others. There are even websites to help you find something to do in your local area on Make a Difference Day. Just in San Diego County, there are food drives, car washes, and other volunteer projects that you can join. There are also many listed that can involve your kids so you can get them started early on becoming more socially conscious and service-oriented. Also, there are many Breast Cancer awareness events still going on through the end of October. This is the perfect time to send a flower arrangement and use this simple gesture to make a difference in someone else's life. Celebrating Special October Days and Events

Here in San Diego, we look forward to Fall for many reasons. While the leaves change color, we still enjoy idyllic weather that makes Halloween even better. Beyond this October holiday, we have many other things to celebrate this month alongside all of our customers. This includes special October days like Bosses Day and Bosses Week on October 16th and through the 21st. Then, there is the Sweetest Day on October 21st, which encourages us all to do something sweet for someone else. Then, there is Mother-in-Law Day on October 22nd. Finally, there is Halloween on October 31st.  We have some great gift ideas for each of these October special holidays and events that you can share with friends, family, colleagues, and clients in San Diego or that we can send across the country. For Bosses Day and Bosses Week, consider a gift basket that they can enjoy alone or with the team or their family. It's a great gift idea, especially if you are not sure if your boss likes flowers or plants. For the Sweetest Day, you can send chocolates or a sweet flower cube with bright blooms. For example, Sunny San Diego is a mix of bold

September 28th is National Good Neighbor Day. Each year, it is held on this date as a way to recognize the importance of forming relationships with those around us. It's good for the human connection as well as for building community and keeping neighborhoods safe and in good shape. Many people have become friends with their neighbors, enjoying cookouts together and events like block parties. Kids grow up and go to school together. It's what ties us together. And, it's more important than ever because we are losing some of that human connection by focusing on online friendships and relationships. Unfortunately, since people move so often and the recession in recent years has led to the loss of homes not to mention many people often commute, getting to know our neighbors doesn't happen as much as it should. This is an opportunity to knock on a neighbor's door and introduce yourself. It might even be good to deliver a small gift so they know how you much you appreciate them -- that they keep an eye on the house while you are away or help keep the area looking nice. Here are some gift ideas for Good Neighbor Day that we
