Use Autumn Colors and Seasonal Flowers in Your Home This Month

Now that Fall is in full swing here in San Diego -- although you wouldn't know it because of our beautiful summer-like weather -- it's time to turn your home into a fall wonderland for Halloween and beyond. There are so many stunning autumn colors to choose from as the focal point for your seasonal decorating. Here are some floral decorating ideas from our fall collection. Orange Let's start with the color we most associate with fall: Orange. And, you can thank pumpkins for that association! It's great to see that pumpkin patches are back throughout San Diego. The orange hue can also be seen in fall leaves and fall florals. We offer everything from a keepsake pumpkin container filled with fall blooms to bright orange floral designs or fall decor with orange-tinted leaf accents. Cream Of course, with all the bold colors, it's also good to balance that with more demure colors like cream. We also have a pumpkin container in white filled with bright fall flowers with copper accents. You can also go with other elegant floral designs that feature cream and silver, bronze, or copper accents. Yellow The color yellow during fall is best associated with sunflowers, which had warmth and cheer as the weather changes and cools. Choose from a bowl of sunflowers on their own or mix these beauties up with some of our other fall flowers. Burgundy If you are looking for something that adds boldness to a room that may otherwise be untouched by color, consider a floral arrangement with burgundy florals. The deep red adds a dramatic look to any decor. Purple Considered a regal color, purple is not always associated with fall. However, we have made some stunning fall centerpieces, including cornucopias, [...]

Think Pink During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness across the country and in San Diego. It's a month dedicated to raising awareness and funds to help more people be aware of getting mammograms and doing more to help stop breast cancer. In the past, San Diego has been the home to many fundraisers and Breast Cancer Awareness events. However, due to COVID-19, many events have been cancelled this year. This includes many runs/walks as well as ceremonies. However, others are carrying on in a virtual format. For example, the Susan G. Komen Foundation of San Diego is hosting a virtual event on November 1st. Doing it virtually is intended to keep awareness going as well as continue to raise money for this important cause. What You Can Do Outside of external events throughout San Diego, you may know someone fighting breast cancer or who has survived it. You can do many things to raise awareness about breast cancer on your own without these organized events. Here are some ideas to get you started: Change your social media profile to add a breast cancer awareness sticker or frame. Share information about breast cancer survival and early detection measures. Post pictures of those you know who have survived and those you have lost to remind your social circle of the importance of early detection. Donate to a charity or nonprofit that is aiding in the fight against breast cancer. Focus on those that provide the most support to those fighting this disease. Cut off some of your hair and donate to an organization that makes wigs. Help someone you know who has cancer with whatever they may need for themselves or to help care for their families while they fight cancer. Wear pink wherever you go [...]
