Celebrate Creativity on Floral Design Day

There is so much to be said for creativity and what it can do to lift spirits, motivate people, and create joy. One group of artists that we celebrate each year are floral designers. Our floral designers are everything to us here in San Diego. We love them and what they do so much because we see what they are able to do for the recipients of their artwork. About Floral Design Day Floral Design Day was created by Carl Rittner, the founder of the Rittners School of Floral Design in Boston. He was considered to be a pioneer in floral art education. While he started the initiative, it was Governor William Weld of Massachusetts that created the day in 1995. National Floral Design Day was then established on February 28th as a way to recognize the art of floral design and appreciate its history. Across cultures and time, floral design has been considered to be an important cultural art form. Celebrating Floral Design Day In celebrating it, our San Diego flower shops recognize and reward our floral design teams. We appreciate that many customers also drop by or send messages to our floral designers, too, not to mention come by for a bouquet or order online. We can also celebrate Floral Design Day through painting, planting flowers, using floral motifs in textiles or other mediums, and creating a bouquet. It may even involve taking a floral design class to understand the depth of artistry that goes into this craft. You can also use social media to share awareness about Floral Design Day, including using the hashtag, #FloralDesignDay, and sharing your favorite floral design pictures. Shop Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday

Small business is the engine of our economy, and it's never been more important than this year to support small businesses as the pandemic continues to adversely impact all types of small businesses throughout San Diego, California, and the country. We appreciate the continued support of our customers throughout this year and situation. You have been a critical factor in our ability to stay open and continue doing what we love. For that, we are so grateful and count it as a blessing for this Thanksgiving and holiday season. Every year, we participate in what's become known as Small Business Saturday, which falls just after Black Friday. This year is no exception although it will not look the same. This year's Small Business Saturday event is November 28th. Businesses all over San Diego will participate and offer great deals and unique products, which make us stand out compared to the big box brand shops you could go to. You also get exceptional and personalized service when you shop small businesses. Our plans will be a little different, too, for Small Business Saturday. You are most likely used to our Open Houses with holiday festivities. This year, we have to limit the amount of people in our San Diego flower shops but we still will have some festive activities and great values for holiday gift-giving and decorating. We have ensured a safe and healthy environment for all that would like to shop within our San Diego florist locations. If you can't make it to Small Business Saturday on November 28th, you can also check out Cyber Monday on November 30th. Gift Crates are Perfect Idea for Thanksgiving Host

If you are not hosting Thanksgiving this year but are going to a nearby friend or family member's house, it's always a good idea to bring along a gift for the Thanksgiving host that says thank you for the invite and hospitality. After all, a lot of work goes into preparing the Thanksgiving feast and table. And, with all the changes this year in terms of safety precautions for family and social gatherings, the Thanksgiving host may have fewer people on hand to help out. There are many types of Thanksgiving host gifts to consider. Think about what you know about your host, including their preferences and personality. The most personalized gifts mean the most because the host will know you put a lot of thought into what you got for them. Your favorite San Diego florist is here to help with many different gift crates that are ideal as a Thanksgiving host gift. The gift crates are similar to gift baskets in that they offer many types of gifts in one package. Our gift crates, though, offer a unique way to showcase our floral designs and plants like succulents as well as offer items like gourmet food, fresh fruit, and wine or champagne. Now, you can give your Thanksgiving host something to add to the table like a bouquet as well as treat them to a bottle of their favorite red or white wine or champagne. Maybe they will even break it out at the Thanksgiving meal to share! Plus, any of the food items may be ideal for the snacks that come before or after the Thanksgiving meal. Recently, we have introduced some new gift crates that may also make nice host gifts for this year's Thanksgiving. Many feature [...]
